Michael K. Thompson retired as the head softball coach at Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Michigan in 2025. He served on the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association executive board as the Scholarship Chairman, the Division 4 All-State Chair, and the Division 4 Rankings Chair. He is also active in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
He was inducted into the MHSSCA Hall of Fame in 2016 and the Michigan High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2026.
During his 30-year teaching career in Frankfort, Coach Thompson coached football for 25 years and softball for 23 years. He is passionate about developing championship team culture, accountability, responsibility, team building, and effective leadership with coaches and student-athletes.
